Femme Fatale Playlist

This isn’t even my genre.

If you looked at my playlists and suddenly saw this one, you’d probably assume someone borrowed my Spotify account or I got possessed.

The songs are sensual. Listening to this makes me want to move like Baby in the movie Dirty Dancing. She’s a little awkward at first, then slowly she becomes more comfortable in her own body. The kind of music that makes me want to wear silk instead of an oversized T-shirt, turn the lights down and dance because I just feel like it.

I think people hear the words femme fatale and immediately picture red lipstick, black eyeliner, black dress, smoky eyes, and a captivating woman. To me, the femme fatale is just one expression of femininity.

I think real femininity looks a lot like self-awareness and not really about how other people see you. It’s about how you exist with yourself when no one’s watching. It’s when you let yourself feel things without being sorry for it because you know that its just a normal reaction. Having self-respect, healthy boundaries and confidence that doesn’t need an audience. Its having the integrity that lets you walk away from things that don’t align with your values, even when staying would be easier.

I recommend listening to this playlist when you want to feel a little more femme fatale. Dance if you want to. Light the candle. Move slowly. Let yourself feel beautiful. Lip-sync dramatically in your bedroom like you’re starring in a music video.

Let yourself be sensual. Let yourself take up space. Let yourself feel completely at home in your own body.
